I submit the attached report compiled by

Sub-Inspector Cunningham.

YUNG LONG WAN is about 1 mile to north

of Black Point on the south coast of Deep Bay, both the

land and the water are British.

27.1.40.

I submit in duplicate a report of the seizure

of Cargo Boats Nos: 425Y and 265V alleged to have taken

place in British waters about half a mile off Yung Lung

Wan on the South coast of Deep Bay sometime after 23.00

hours on 21.1.40, and subsequent events when four other

craft were molested in Chinese waters off Lin Tin and

Chek Wan. It has taken considerable time to get all the

details from the witnesses, arranged in the correct

chronological order, and I have had to send the statements

back several times for doubtful points to be cleared up,

and to see if corroboration could be obtained.

2. What appears to have happened can be summarized

as follows:- Sometimes after 23.00 hours on the night in

question Cargo Boat No. 425Y whilst sailing towards Hong

Kong and about half a mile off Yung Lung Wan was approached

by a Japanese Motor Boat, fired on, boarded, and then taken
